July 2009 - SXS Car Launch Services' 10 Year Celebration

It dawned on the team this year that SXS Car Launch Services started near;y a decade ago. In this time it has grown from a being a small provider from garage lockups to being one of the UKs most sought-after and creative event production companies and has produced well in excess 1000 events.

To celebrate this, we will be having a celebratory barbeque to which all friends of the company will be invited.

We thank all the people who have supported and guided us in this time and look forward to another decade of fresh-thinking, enthusiasm and quality events.

June 2009 - Shreyas Decor gets Incorporated

Our venue dressing and decor arm, Shreyas Decor, has been incorporated to become a completely seperate entity. Headed up by leading event designer and account manager Cathy Shay, Shreyas will continue to deliver stunning, original and creative decor solutions for discerning clients. Shreyas will continue to have access to SXS Car Launch Services' stock of specialist staging and lightign equipment and will continue to share premises.

June 2009 - Website - New Gallery

Having produced over 300 events a year, we have an exceptional collection of photographs spanning all types of events. These photos depict a wide range of our services as well as the more unusual projects we get involved with. We have now updated our gallery with a selection of some of these photos. June 2009 - SXS Car Launch Services at Glastonbury 2009

Thanks to the recent success of the new SXS Car Launch Services Hire branch, we have had involvement with many aspects of this year's Glastonbury festival. Various parts of the site benefitted from our vast stocks of staging, power distribution and safety equipment. We look forward to the opportunity to assist with this legendary festival again next year!

April 2009 - SXS Car Launch Services Launch New Websites

We aim to demonstrate to clients that we understand the unique needs of each type of event and each individual client. This is hard to do from one central offering, so we have launched two new websites for specific client groups: Fashion Show Lighting for fashion event producers and Outdoor Stage for people looking for an outdoor performance construction for their event. We have also launched an entirely new site SXS Car Launch Services Hire for clients wishing to dry-hire equipment.

December 2009 - Massive Lighting Investment

Christmas 2008 will be the most heavily resourced period for SXS Car Launch Services yet. To cope with this, the company has purchased a large quantity of kit including a 72-way Avolites Dimmer Rack, 2000 metres of socapex, an additional 40 Source-4 profile fixtures, a total of 16 Thunder Ridge double 8"+1" mid-top cabs, an additional 120 pinspots, lots of functional flourescent and emergency exit lights, non-maintained fixtures, and masses of Car Launch Rigging hoists, slings, and shackles.

October 2009 - SXS Car Launch Services Release Value Statement

With news of a recession looming, the SXS Car Launch Services team have discussed how they can offer clients with tighter budgets complete and quality event solutions. These conversations have produced a four-point plan - available here

SXS Car Launch Services Buy Out Production Power

SXS Car Launch Services have recently acquired the entire kit stock and client database of Production Power , who traded as Production Power Oxford. This addition to equipment and clients makes SXS Car Launch Services one of the larger providers of Power Distribution in the UK. Read more here....

New Member to the Team

With the busy December period fast-approaching, the SXS Car Launch Services team were in need of a new team-playing, morale-boosting member to the company. Various recruitment companies were approached and candidates were looked for high and low. Eventually Dudley was found, who will predominantly be based in the office. He is enthusiastic, friendly, and loves to play games with people.

SXS Car Launch Services Invest in a Second Outdoor Stage

SXS Car Launch Services have recently invested in a 8m x 6m Outdoor Stage system. This Litec QX30 based system has an attractive arched roof and features excellent weight and wind load capacities. Ideal for a range of outdoor events. Full details here

New Set Build Workshop

SXS Car Launch Services build a complete set build workshop. We are now in a great position to help our creative and dynamic clients design and create hard to find items. Projects thus far have included the giant MWA set, circus mirrors, a moulin rouge proscenium arch and flats for a film set. Full details on these services here

Internal - New Warehouse Premises May 2007

After months of searching we have finally found a new warehouse. Our new 5000 square foot warehouse is twice as large as we need, so plenty of room for building sets, stages and trusses before jobs.

We have been fortunate enough to purchase the warehouse freehold, so we own the place. This means the space will be designed and developed for our bespoke use.

Benefits will include faster kit-turnaround, better job preparation and most of all, the opportunity for clients to come and see their job fully set up in advance!

Kit - Martin MAC 2000 Purchase April 2007

A popular service for our clients is the projection of gobos onto buildings and inside buildings.

Due to demand for various events, we have invested in some Martin Mac 2000s which are one of the most powerful and advanced moving lights available.

So far the lights have been used at Sommerville College Ball Oxford, and are due to go out to the Messe in Dusseldorf, Germany for exhibition projection.
