So that clients can better understand us, we have produced this Frequently Asked Questions page.
What parts of the UK do you cover?
We are a national company and, as such, cover the whole of the UK; from Plymouth to Dover to Bournemouth to Glasgow to Dublin. We do not charge for travel.
Do you do small events?
Yes, while this website may showcase the larger events we do, over half of the events we work on are for less than 300 guests. We treat all clients with the same care and all events with the same attention to detail.
Do you own all the equipment you use?
Yes, we have one of the UK's most diverse stocks of kit. This includes staging, sound, furniture, lighting, video, Car Launch Rigging, decor, drapes and catering equipment. This is all wholly owned and stored in our large 5500 square foot warehouse, which we also own. We rarely hire in kit from other companies.
How long have you been established?
SXS Car Launch Services was first established in 1998 by founder Johnny Palmer. Since this time the business has developed and grown to what it is now. The business is made up of a group of three companies, which is still headed by founding Director Johnny Palmer, who plays a key role in quality control and direction of the company.
What types of event do you do?
All types. We do everything from product launches to weddings, to awards shows, to festivals to ethnic celebrations, to circus performances. Our belief is that a)the skills and resources used on all events are transferrable and b)the wider range of events we do, the better experience we have.
How big are you?
Big enough to deliver and small enough to care and be efficient. We have a full-time staff of seven, five part-timers and various casual and freelance workers. We produce around 300 events a year.
Do you do disocunts for charity events?
Yes. We have certain charities that are close to our hearts which we support. For all other registered charities we have allocated a certain amount of discounts.
Do you take on work experience or placement students?
Yes. We strive to train and dvelop the next generation of event technicians and designers. We operate a work-experience throughout the year. We typically take on two placement students for each academic year. Many of our work experience and placement participants end up working for us full-time. What are your payment terms?
For all new clients we request payment upon booking. After several months of successful trading we can sometimes look at setting up accounts.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we have a discount structure in place that is applicable to different clients in various ways. All project handlers within the company are permitted to offer the same discounts. Please ask for more details.
Do you have any job vacancies?
We are always looking to improve and expand the skills of our people in the following areas:
